Yellow Wood Goblin rilascia un nuovo aggiornamento per il FW Wood R4.
Per installarlo basta mettere la cartella _rpg e _DS_MENU.DAT nella root della vostra microSD.
Fate caso al fatto che il firmware girera' SOLO sulle R4 Revolution originali, e su Acekard R.P.G. e dalla v.1.17 anche per R4iDSN; le fake/cloni non sono compatibili.
Dalla versione 1.17 l'autore ha aggiunto una terza versione del firmware funzionante per flashcard fake R4iDSN. E' ancora confermato che le altre flashcard fake e cloni non permettono di usare questo firmware, nonostante esistano anche qui delle eccezioni (non vi resta che provare).
Allego inoltre la versione del firmware per le R4i Gold, che funzionerΰ solo sulle R4i che hanno come sito ufficiale www.r4ids.cn/. Tutti gli altri tipi di R4i Gold non potranno utilizzare quel firmware.SAV Converter (for Wood R4) v1.2.4
-DjGG- ha creato una nuova versione del suo converter che ci permette di convertire i .sav in .nds.sav, per fare in modo che vadano con la nuova versione del FW R4 (Wood).
E' stata inoltre aggiunta la funzione di fare un backup su PC in modo automatico cercando quelli presenti su flashcard! (Fonte del convertitore: Gbarl)

Ed ecco che rispunta fuori un nuovo firmware aggiornato per la R4.
Il merito θ tutto di Yellow Wood Goblin, che grazie all'aiuto di Normmatt ha creato questo nuovo FW, basato sul Wood R.P.G. Firmware, quindi avrΰ la stessa compatibilitΰ.
Per installarlo basta mettere la cartella _rpg e _DS_MENU.DAT nella root della vostra microSD.
Fate caso al fatto che il firmware girera' SOLO sulle R4 Revolution originali, le fake/cloni non sono compatibili .

Place the _rpg directory and the _DS_MENU.DAT into the ROOT of your microSD card.
Compatibility:
Everything that works on Wood R.P.G. should work on Wood R4. Wood R.P.G. has 99.8% compatibility. I won't say it is 100% because there could be the occasional glitch or bug. All future Anti-Piracy ROMs are not supported but could possibly be fixed on a 1:1 basis.
Support:
There is confirmation that this is working on the Original R4, the R4 SD clones, and the M3 Simply.
Skins:
This is a port of Wood R.P.G. so this will use the same skins used on the R.P.G. as the GUI has not changed.
Saves:
Wood R4 supports RAW format save files named ROM-NAME.nds.sav. You will need to rename your save files in order to make use of them.
Why use this over YSMENU?
This is a full firmware replacement. Expect all of the features of a modern firmware. Including Wii-connectivity, Cheats, Themes, Short-cuts, etc. Everything Wood R.P.G. does on the Acekard R.P.G. this firmware does on the R4 (except for on the fly A.P. patching for yet to be released ROMs). This firmware will continue to be updated, tweaked, fixed, optimized, etc. It is time to say goodbye to YASU's YSMENU by giving your R4 Wood!
Questa notizia non puo' che rendere felici tutti i possessori di una R4 original che e' senza ombra di dubbio stata la vera rivoluzione Slot1 per le flashCard DS.
Personalmente ho sempre difeso la R4 suggerendola come la migliore flashcard disponibile per DS; ritengo cio' in base ad alcune semplici considerazioni:
1) Hardware ultrasolido e perfettamente funzionante nella sua "semplicita'" evitando soluzioni astruse tipo PSRAM che devono tenere in memoria dati fino al prossimo riavvio
2) Nel bene o nel male ( e non considero i cloni ) e' sinonimo di FlashCard per DS, questo ne fa' la card piu' diffusa tra gli utilizzatori di flashcard e la storia insegna che quando un hardware e' molto diffuso viene sempre preso in considerazione dalla comunita' degli sviluppatori "amatoriali"
3) Anche se il Team ( non per sua colpa ) ha dovuto interrompere lo sviluppo del Firmware Ufficiale alla versione 1.18 e' sempre stato facile reperire in rete informazioni su come far partire backup particolarmente rognosi; prova ne e' l'altissima compatibilita' anche se dovendo a volte switchare tra firmware ufficiali e unficcial ( vedi YSmenu' )

che me ne frega che il teamSuperCard e' attivissimo se ogni volta che devo far partire un nuovo backup devo andare a recuperare in rete l'ultimo file ndsinfo.dat?
che me ne faccio delle sopravvalutate superfeatures se poi l'oS e' instabile confusionario e schizzinosissimo con le MicroSD?
L' OS della R4 e' sempre stato il nonplusultra per semplicita' ed efficienza di utilizzo e quando venivano rilasciati aggiornamenti si era sicuri per un bel po' che non si avrebbero avuti problemi con i backup senza dover andare a cercare glabole in rete.
Non vedo la differenza tra dover andare sul forum della supercard ogni volta che voglio eseguire un nuobo backup con la DSOnei oppure dovere recarmi su
http://wiki.scorpei.com/index.php/R4_compatibility_list
e controllare con quale firmware (tra official ed unoficcial ) lo stesso backup funzioni con R4.

Si,all'inizio la r4 era una buonissima card, ma ora ci sono tanti cloni falsi,e quindi non θ stata piω sviluppata la originale.... Io ho la acekard 2i !! supeeeeeeeeeer buona! xD sempre aggiornata con Normatt,ke crea fw!
